The spirit of youth sports reached a crescendo at the cricket ground of Modi World School, Wisdom City, Jhunjhunu, as the host school scripted a memorable triumph in the 70th District Level Cricket Tournament (Under-17 Boys). Held across four intense days of competitive action from September 20 to September 23, the championship brought together top emerging cricketing talent from across the district. Amidst high stakes and roaring cheers from the sidelines, Modi World School emerged as the undisputed champion, lifting the coveted winner’s trophy and securing the prestigious gold medal in commanding fashion.
The tournament witnessed fierce competition right from the opening fixtures, featuring a massive turnout of 31 school teams. With knockout-style pressure looming over every fixture, teams arrived prepared to fight for every run and wicket. Over the course of the tournament, the host squad distinguished itself not merely through raw athletic talent, but through systematic game management, tactical discipline, and exceptional sportsmanship. Match after match, the young players navigated critical moments with composure, showing that rigorous training and tactical clarity remain the backbone of championship runs.
The grand finale turned out to be an electrifying encounter between Modi World School and Tagore School, Sitsar. Both teams stepped onto the turf with strong winning momentum, yet Modi World School asserted absolute dominance when it mattered most. Backed by clinical bowling spells and sharp fielding efforts that restricted their opponents, the host team executed a calm and calculated run chase. Displaying remarkable temperament under pressure, they crossed the finish line with 6 wickets in hand to claim an emphatic victory. The triumph sparked jubilation across the campus, rewarding days of relentless hustle on the field.
Beyond the championship silverware, the tournament delivered another historic milestone for the school’s sports program. Impressed by their consistent individual brilliance and impact performances throughout the event, the selection committee chose five students from Modi World School for the upcoming State Level Cricket Championship. The honored players making the district contingent are Nishant Kesari, Tanmay Yadav, Abhinav Bharat Vyas, and Himendra Choudhary, with talented youngster Garvit Kanodia earning a vital spot as the standby player. Their call-up marks a watershed moment in their blossoming sporting journeys.
Behind every disciplined lineup stands an inspiring mentor, and cricket coach Mahesh Singh earned high praise for orchestrating this victorious campaign. Reflecting on the team’s dominant run, Coach Singh attributed the historic achievement to the boys’ unyielding dedication, grueling daily practice sessions, and cohesive team dynamics. He highlighted how the players stepped up collectively rather than leaning on individual heroics, backing each other through key bowling partnerships and steady batting stands.
The school management and administration joined the campus in felicitating the triumphant squad, the coaching staff, and the physical education department. Leadership representatives noted that this victory is a shining reflection of the institution’s sustained commitment to sports infrastructure and the holistic development of youth. By pairing rigorous academic frameworks with top-tier athletic training, Modi World School continues to nurture well-rounded leaders who demonstrate grit, resilience, and fair play on every stage they step onto.
Adding his voice to the celebrations, School Director Aakash Modi expressed profound pride and joy over the boys’ landmark victory. He commended the Under-17 champions for bringing glory to the institution, their families, and the entire district of Jhunjhunu. Highlighting the broader trajectory of the program, Director Modi remarked that the players have steadily carved out a distinct identity on the national cricketing circuit, making their community immensely proud. He underscored that securing five selections for the state championship in a single edition stands as a remarkable testament to the institution’s sporting vision.
As the gold-winning squad savors this hard-earned victory, the selected five now turn their focus to the challenges of the state championship. Armed with the confidence of district champions and the backing of an inspired coaching setup, these young athletes step forward carrying the hopes of Jhunjhunu, ready to set higher benchmarks in the cricketing arena.
